Paper Abstract:
|
This paper describes WinBeach, a new concept of applying mobile computing to beach management. WinBeach is
composed of two modules, a server side application and a client side application on a personal digital assistant (PDA).
The business advantages of the new solution versus the common manual procedures are highlighted, stressing the
contribution of adoption of PDAs and wireless communication. The solution, build using Visual Basic .NET, is
described. The architecture, main functionalities and communication aspects are addressed. Key points on
synchronization and replica management are discussed. |
